Installation services start with assisting with creation of specifications for installation; the actual defining of how the materials, equipment, and accessories will be incorporated into your lab project.

Our installation services includes more than erection of new lab furniture. We can do relocation of the existing lab furniture and offer some repair services. We are there for you with help in how to do a relocation or renewal lab tops or repair cabinet items. We can help you with all that will be needed to accomplish your total scope of work. New construction blocking in walls is recommended; however, for true lab furniture blocking in walls is not required with lab hanging rail system or French cleat system.

After purchase order service includes review with you your O & M Manuals. These owner operator use and maintence manuals and warranty documents are very important.

More focus currently has been on laboratory homeland security, quality control and safety. We have helped implement and assisted in this task.

With lab counter top materials like Trespa (phenolics), epoxy resin tops, stone tops, scientific plastics and epoxy sinks, our installer help is an important part of our service. We offer value engineering, lab furniture costing, specifications review as fee based lab project review to avoid costly "error and ommission issues" a growing concern for our engineering clients.

Energy savings is very important, so we have energy saving options for fume hoods.

We have experience in practical applications, modifications that can give real benefit.

  • Installation services have included Soft Wall Clean Rooms & Laminar Flow Cabinets.
  • Our installation is usually non mechanical.
  • We supply fume hoods, base cabinets, ducting and fans, and we can arrange for mechancial and electrical subcontractors in some areas.

  • We sell acid & flammable cabinets and offer venting options that can be done yourself.
  • We specialize in installing epoxy resin counters & sinks. It is important to understand and know tolerances as epoxy resin counter tops have deviations from true plane.
  • We provide refacing or replacement of lab cabinet doors.
  • We renew epoxy resin counters and seams and sinks.
  • Consider refacing existing doors or replacing them with laminate doors, call for a quote.
  • Consider new high tech glass and polycarbonate replacement doors, that can be custom made to fit your cupboards.
  • Many affordable replacement options including some new "Enviromentally Preferred Coatings" to meeting green building standards.
  • New glass doors on those old cases is a good time to add locks for security.
  • Change cabinet door handles & knobs provide an affordable new look and can imporves function.
  • Replacement doors can be new high doors of PVC, Vinyl or laminante.
  • Indoor environment, new green build concepts ideas with us includes strawboard core doors or strawboard doors.
  • We can help with locks options for bases, drawers, doors.
  • We do repair epoxy resin laboratoy tops & refurbish epoxy sinks as well as renew stainless steel products.
  • Renewing stainless steel sinks and counters is usually a big savings over costly replacement and creates an immediate improvement to any area.
  • For worn laminate counters consider overlay of laminate or preferred phenolics.

  • Some of these installation services can provide a new look for the old lab without tearout or all the reinstallation mess or big disruptions.

    For you do it yourselfers:

    • We stock epoxy seam repair kits and chip kits.
      Two Part Black Cement kits in stock. Black Pint sets and Quart Sets.

    • Edge chip mini clear kits to fix a chip or are used with colored epoxy and now new mini black kits.
    • Often maintenance staff can fix chips and remove and redo seams with alittle instruction and practice.
      The epoxy lab top mini repair kits are $15.00 plus shipping US and includes cloth, gloves, sticks (everything to repair several small repairs).

      Pint sets & Quart sets of epoxy cement are needed for sink or seam installation work. They include nothing but part A & B. It is expected the intended user will be supplying gloves, putty knife, lint free cloths and is experienced and has other small tools and sand paper.

      A pint set is $35.00, plus shipping and a quart set is $45.00 plus shipping.

      Tolerances for epoxy components: Corners: deviation from normal; plus minus 1/32" of inch.
      Slab warpage deviation from true plain in unrestrained condition: .0625 in in 36" span and .0937 in any 96" span.

      SEFA and Manufacturers explain the material is poured and baked and tolerances for deviations from true plan is inherit. Seams need to be 1/8"+ (or a saw blade)to provide enough material (cement (two part epoxy) to secure two slabs together. No span more than 36" is recommended without supports.

    things to remember:

    Costing needs to be considered as sometimes the lab furniture & accessories or equipment is beyond reasonable repair and life expectancy.
    • Sinks that are cracked can't be salvaged.
    • Cleaning & good housekeeping extends life of lab furnishings.
    • Leaking Faucets are often easy to repair.
    • Lighting should be upgraded for safety reasons and savings.
    • Using 100% silicone around the toe base of cabinets is critical before applying rubber base molding in labs, to insure nothing can get under the cabinet; this best practice eliminates water damage in most cases, keeps pests from hiding, and eliminates potential for mold or other issues development in concealed from view places.
      • Regular or annual inspection is advised and reworking sealant is recommended.
      • Owner Advocate Services - includes identification of not in compliance issues, not to industry standards and functional issues, some quality standard issues or performance limitations, options lab dispute resolution or resolve in place or substandard issues as well as construction assistance with cost saving and shifting of error back upon the parties which were in control of outcome or problems.
