Base Units can be any size, but standard sizes save material and money.
Metric sizes save the most. Example of good metric sizes are:
40cm./15 3/4 inches
80cm./31 1/2 inches
120 cm which is 47 1/4 inches wide.
Bigger than 120cm size base creates problems, as larger doors over 22 inches will tend to warp.
Big doors are heavy and require more than two hinges usually, and can sag in time.
Base Units with no drawers cost less than those with drawer units.
Pull out shelves serve the same purpose, cost less, and can be added at any time.
Most common of the base cabinets has a top drawer then a door or a pair of doors. Base cabinets come with one shelf.
If you want two shelves, you must ask for and pay for an extra shelf. Shelf thickness should 3/4" or 1" thick and edged on all edges or sealed on all edges.
Base 12 can be called out as B12, but should be specified using Width height depth. Example: B123024nod-L (NOD=no drawer) L/R desiginated left or right hand swing on the door.
This is easy generic information and helps eliminate confusion. Remember the swing is determined by facing the base and if door is to open to your right it is a right. Another way is to say if the hinge is on the right facing the door it is a right. * ND = and no door Two Doors and One Drawer or Two Doors and Two Drawers
All the combinations requires a key or a catalog part number and a description, to eliminate errors. *Please Specify Left or Right Hinge on all Single Door Cabinets.Caster base units add cost and flexibility. All Base Units are available in Sitting or Standing height. All Units can have optional locks and other accessories. Accessories like pullboards, keyboard lifts and trays, and label holders.
