Lab Sinks of Stainless Steel are used with Laminated Tops, and scientific plastic sinks can be set in plastic laminate with a mounting ring. Epoxy sinks are not a good option for set in or under hung in laminate tops. Epoxy Counters, Trespa tops, phenolics tops, and in stainless counters and most other materials.

Scientific Plastic Sinks made of same material as dilution tanks & Trough by companies like Orion or Scientific Plastic can be used with any counter tops, but reqires an installation ring or mounting ring in some.
Remember sinks can be mounted in three ways, lipped drop-in, hoodie-rimmed mount top or undercounter mount. Lipped drop-in is easy to mount in epoxy resin and takes the least amount of labor. The thickness can vary and it takes an experienced installer to mount scientific plastic sinks. Most counter manufacturers recommend underhung only if solid surface and hoodie or hootie rim is hard to install as underhung with sold surface. Laminate or similar counter material is not a good choice for under hung and is not in some cases recommended. Nor is it recommended that epoxy resin be used in plastic laminate tops even if lipped and even if a installation ring as the weight and the sealing of different materials presents problems.

Lab Sinks of epoxy resin are used with epoxy counters, Trespa counter tops, or other phenolics tops. Match material with performance and material.

Dilution / Neutralization Tanks - Catchpots - Bottle Traps and P traps come in many sizes and types, and you need to be sure you have sufficient space inside the base cabinets to allow installation and service of these items. Watch depth of sink and size of sink in labs. /LI>

Polypropylene Molded cup sinks & drains, custom sinks & even counters are in limited sizes, and custom fabrications are not cheap.

Wall- Mounted Molded Sinks of Polypropylene is good as it resists acid caustic solvents better than any other sink material counter, but is limited in sizes.

Heavy - Duty Flanged & Regular Polyprop Rectangular Sinks recommended for use with dry ice and liquid nitrogen, less expensive than stainless steel and can handle the material whereas epoxy is not appropriate.

Cupsinks for special applications may have minimum order and this applys for special sinks colors like Red for Biohazard. Round and rectangular cupsinks are available with options like screens, covers, colors to match and to contrast, but black is standard.

Epoxy Resin Sinks under hung require sink hangers and this is supplied by the cabinet manufacturer. Lipped epoxy resin sinks do not need hangers and are as stated above also called set in or drop-in style and are easy to install as no strut or hangers needed like under-hung sinks. While drop-in are not supported by hanging rails in cabinet, all tub sinks must be. All underhung epoxy sinks should have support and even drop-in large sinks should have cabinet supports and or supports that are floor support or jacks.
